Our engineering platform

ValveDyn Pro

Compressor valve dynamic calculation — engineering-grade simulation and precision modeling behind every valve we recommend.

Free 30-day trial (single-stage analysis, no card required) — multi-stage projects, PDF export and the optimizer unlock with a license. macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, Apple Silicon & Intel. The iPad version is in review on the App Store — details below.

ValveDyn Pro — compressor valve dynamic calculation

What's inside the engine

Why our valve recommendations hold up

Most valve calculators give you a number. ValveDyn Pro tells you why — with transparent, defensible physics.

Dynamic ODE simulation

Full RK4 ODE solver on the valve plate — real lift, bounce count and impact velocity across the whole revolution, not a single-point flow check.

Four stability criteria

Costagliola hold-open, Frenkel flow-area sizing, Blevins flutter and 4-DOF resonance — cross-checked so a "healthy" score actually means something.

Wear & life prediction

Physics-based seat wear from Hertzian contact stress and Archard wear, calibrated against known reseat intervals.

Material selection engine

Feed it corrosive compounds, wet gas, liquids, solids and lubrication — it recommends ring, seat, spring and housing materials, and what it excluded and why.

Global optimizer

Sobol-sampled optimization of spring rate, lift and valve type across every stage of a multistage machine.

AI engineering assistant

Ask about your project in plain language — it answers from your actual computed results, not generic textbook advice.

One click to a client-ready PDF: parameters, per-stage performance, health scores and material recommendations — packaged automatically.

What you actually get

Real output, not marketing renders

Every screen below is the application running a five-stage CO₂ machine — the demo project that ships with it.

Valve lift curve from the RK4 ODE solver, phase portrait, and seat impact velocity traces for suction and discharge valves
Valve dynamics — the full revolution. Real lift from the RK4 ODE solver, the phase portrait, and seat impact velocity for both ends. Bounce count, max velocity and open fraction are read off the solution, not estimated.
Health score of 117 out of 120 with six sub-scores, and the API 618 and v6 scoring methodology checklist
Every criterion, with its limit. A health score you can take apart — six sub-scores, then each check listed against the standard it comes from: API 618, Plastinin, Frenkel, EN 13906-1. Including the ones that fail.
Optimizer results showing the best candidate per valve end, health score histograms and health versus lift scatter across 8,750 candidates
8,750 candidates, ranked. The optimizer sweeps lift, spring rate, ring mass, preload and slot width, then shows you the distribution — not just a single answer you have to trust.
Pressure-volume indicator diagram with cycle work, indicated efficiency, MEP and valve pressure drops
The indicator diagram. P–V per cycle with indicated work, efficiency, MEP and the suction and discharge pressure drops that caused it.

Coming to iPad

The same engine, on the plant floor

ValveDyn Pro for iPad is in review on the App Store — the same physics engine as the Mac app: valve dynamics, health score, optimizer, multi-stage machines and client-ready PDF reports.

Your projects, both ways

Open a .vdp project created on the Mac, work on it on the iPad and send it back. Same file, same results to the decimal.

Yearly subscription

Sold as a yearly subscription in the app, with the first month free for new subscribers. Customers who already hold a ValveDyn Pro licence key can enter it instead.

What is different

The AI engineering assistant and the 30-day trial stay on the Mac. The ODE solver, criteria, optimizer and gas properties are identical.

Requires iPadOS 26 or later. We will publish the App Store link as soon as Apple approves the app — write to us and we will tell you when it is live.

Try the engine yourself — free, right now

Upload a ValveDyn Pro project and get valve loss, capacity, bounce, health score and the lift curve in your browser — the same physics engine as the Mac app, results reproduced to the decimal. No install, no account.

From software to parts

Engineering that turns into the right hardware

ValveDyn Pro isn't a stand-alone tool for us — it's how we make sure the valve, ring, spring and material we supply actually suit your compressor and your service. The result is fewer failures, longer intervals and parts you can trust.

  • Valve selection defended by simulation
  • Materials matched to your real conditions
  • Clear, documented engineering reports

Want a valve assessed?

Share your compressor and operating data and we'll run a ValveDyn Pro assessment as part of your enquiry.
